Hello new friend and welcome to my blog.  If you have read the main page on my website, you already know a little about me and what I hope to do with this website.  I want this site to be a place to showcase and talk about all things creative and I hope that you will be inspired by your visit.

My love of arts and crafts has been with me my whole life.  I have a deep love of rainy days, because as a child, that meant that the glue, paper and scissors came out and my Mom and I would spend a few precious hours creating something fun together and making wonderful memories.  If you’ve ever made something you will know that feeling of working with your hands and having something there to show for that work.  There’s a pleasure in the act of creating and the pride in the finished product.

I always have several projects on the go at once.  At the moment I am working on a bathroom cabinet, that I’m decoupaging.  I am also decoupaging a bedside cabinet, some tealight holders and coat hangers.  I have two coffee tables waiting for their first coat of primer.  I have a canvas that I really want to do a splash of abstract art on.  I have a number of unfinished sketches that I must get around to finishing and I’m working on a crochet blanket that I’ve been meaning to get around to for ages, and the list goes on………. Take a look at my gallery page, I have uploaded pictures of some of my work.  There are so many things that I want to make and new skills that I would love to learn.

I would love to learn carpentry and I would love to have a go at throwing a pot.  I did a one day course in glass fusion, that was great fun and the glass art that I came away with was fantastic (I’ll put the pics up on my gallery soon).  I’m working on my sewing skills and have managed to make a purse, a couple of reversible bags and my kids’ PE kit bags.  I’m so glad I have found the confidence to begin trying these new skills, for years I thought sewing was one of those things that you had to have tons of knowledge before you could even make the simplest of things but I saw a programme on TV called Craft Daily and the seamstresses on there made it look so easy that I decided to give it a go.  By watching them and visiting Debbie Shaw’s youtube videos, I have managed to become an OK home sewer.

I hope that I have inspired you to give something a go.  Please leave comments and any questions you may have here, I want this site to be interactive.  Please add photos of your work to my facebook group page https://www.facebook.com/groups/2313607405628993/

I look forward to seeing your work.
